People who hold physical gold and silver track it in spreadsheets — manually updating spot prices, guessing at profit, dreading tax time. Alchemy treats a bullion portfolio the way a broker treats a share portfolio: live prices, real-time valuation, proper history.
The build
Live spot prices for gold, silver, platinum and palladium feed a portfolio engine that values every holding, tracks profit and loss per asset, and charts the whole portfolio over time — a month, a year, five years. Transactions are first-class: buys and sales in one place, exportable to a clean spreadsheet when the accountant asks.
Where it's going
Deeper analysis of allocation and buying patterns, and smoothing the path from "found the site" to "portfolio fully entered" — that first import is still the biggest drop-off point.
